Large and durable hydraulic power units built for operation under various environmental conditions have many design features different from typical pumping systems. Some standard design features include:
● Accumulators: These are containers that can be connected to the hydraulic system. They collect water from the pumping mechanism to establish and maintain fluid pressure to supplement the motor pumping system.
● Electric pump: the hydraulic power unit can be equipped with one motor pump or multiple devices, each with its own accumulator valve. For multi-pump systems, only one pump is normally operated at a time.
● Oil tank: the oil tank is a liquid storage device with a design volume sufficient to drain the liquid in the pipeline into the liquid storage tank. Similarly, the actuator fluid may sometimes need to be drained into the tank.
● Filter: The filter is usually installed along the top of the oil tank. It is an independent bypass device with its own motor, pump and filter device. It can fill or empty the tank by activating the multidirectional valve. Because the filter is independent, the filter can usually be replaced when the power supply unit is working.
● Cooler and heater: As part of the temperature regulation process, the air cooler can be installed near or behind the filter unit to prevent the temperature from rising above the operating parameters. Similarly, heating systems, such as oil-based heaters, can be used to raise the temperature if necessary.
● Power unit controller: hydraulic controller unit is an operator interface containing power switch, display and monitoring functions. It is very necessary to install and integrate a power unit into the hydraulic system.
